Uncle Bill was one of the strongest, most sure-footed men of confidence I've ever known and his love for his family was unmatched. He also had a terrific sense of humor above all. His kind of intelligence and morally clear vision of the world is rarely seen in this day and age and although I would have never admitted it to him, being a devout Contrarian, I learned much for him indeed. Not only that, I considered him not just "a father" but my other father. Our last conversation included his parting benediction that I was not merely a guest in his home, but family. What an honor, what a privilege, what a joy. He will be terribly, terribly missed by all who knew and loved him. Give Anne Lise, Lise Marie and Daniel your full affection and support now in this saddest of times.
