My prayers go out to the family at this time - I remember Aunt Susie for her smile and laughter. She helped me land my first full time job out of high school at Bell Labs in Holmdel. We carpooled for awhile and she was so fully of energy and such a hard worker - they all loved her at work. She was blessed to have her children with her at her side and to know they loved her so much - she was a wonderful mom and aunt. Love, Mary Jo

How sad we all are to lose "Aunt Susie." My mother, her sister, Gelsomine, and my sisters Theresa and Mary-jo and brothers Michael and Robert and I all have been praying for her since we heard of her illness. We are still in shock. I suppose because it has been many years since we saw her and she was always full of life. Growing up in New Jersey, she was more like a sister to me and my brothers and sisters because she seemed too young to be considered Aunt Susie. We usually just called her "Susie" not out of disrespect, but from affection. She took no offense. She was one of the most intelligent people I have ever known. Such a kind heart and an inspiration to me. Our only consolation is knowing she is with the other angels. God bless and keep your family at this difficult time. She and you are in our prayers.

Susie was always a loving relative and friend. Since we are the same age, we spent our childhood together and I will never forget all the fun we had as kids in Clarksburg, NJ. I know she is in Heaven with her mother and father, brother, and my grandparents, my brother and my father. I miss her already and have her in my heart. Our last words to each other were "I love you." Rest in peace, Susie.

My favorite memory of Aunt Susie is the one time I went to her house in Freehold, NJ as a child with my mom and my brother. In between playing with Neal and Mary Jo, she asked all of us kids if we wanted hot cocoa. I said yes, and I followed her to the kitchen expecting to see a kettle with hot water and a packet. To my amazement I watched her heat up actual milk in a pot and add real chocolate! I never had cocoa so delicious and to this day I remember thinking that her kids were so lucky! About 10 years ago I was able to share that memory with her when she visited my grandmother (her sister Gelsomine) in California, and she laughed with surprise. Rest in peace, Aunt Susie.

To Neal, Mary Jo and Susan: My heartfelt condolences go out to you and your children at this difficult time. Though it has been many years since the Scotto Aunts and cousins were all in the same place at the same time, my memories of large, backyard picnics and BBQs linger. None of these gatherings were complete without Aunt Susie there, laughing and describing in detail her latest job or school courses, offering the "younger generation's" point of view. When Susie was around, I relied on her to interpret the lively conversations my Mom had with her siblings and Grandma, all spoken in vivacious Italian at family food feasts with 60's -70's sensibilities and no air conditioning! Susie was my aunt, but more like a cousin and she will be fondly remembered for her smile , laughter and love of all things family, New Jersey and Italian-American culture. May she rest in peace, at last, in Freehold and in heaven. God bless you all. Love, Patty

Aunt Susie was a wonderful mother and a wonderful Aunt. She was a fabulous cook and I always had a great time when I visited her. Her ice cream cake, macaroni and cheese and salad dressing are part of my DNA now. Now that her spirit is free of her body, I'm sure that she's having a wonderful Italian feast with her Mom and Dad and brother and all the rest of the family. I look forward to seeing her again in heaven.

Dear Neal, MaryJo and Susan, I am so very sorry for your loss. For all of our loss. Your mother always tried to help. I also loved her voice, her escarole salad and enjoying doing puzzles with her when she was in Coral Springs. I'll never forget how beautiful she was and welcoming and loving in the house in Freehold with Grandma and the park across the street. I am sorry she passed so young. I am only glad she is not suffering anymore. We were all pretty broken up over her illness - not nearly as you all must be. I will pray for your peace at this time. God Bless You All Cousin Clare
