Obituary of Irene Corrigan

Irene Corrigan, 88 of Howell Township passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born in Montclair, she has lived in Howell Township for over 60 years. Ms. Corrigan was an administrative assistant for John Hancock Life Insurance Company, Lakewood. Prior to that, she was employed by Public Service Electric and Gas, Asbury Park. She was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School, Caldwell, Class of 1953, where she was a drummer in the high school band, and played field hockey, basketball and softball. She enjoyed playing softball well into her 60’s. She loved Sudoku and took no prisoners in her favorite board games! She was a competitive bowler her entire life, and was an avid gardener who also enjoyed feeding and watching the birds. A beach and sun worshipper, she was also the best sea glass hunter. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jodi Irene Eberhardt, her brother, Joseph Ternyik, and a son-in-law, Donald W. Labella, Jr. Surviving are her daughters, Dawn Bausher and her husband Edward, New Egypt, and Tina Labella, Howell Township; her grandchildren, Emily and Rebecca Bausher, John Eberhardt, and Travis Eberhardt and his wife Paula; and her great grandchildren Peyton and Gianni. Visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday, February 27, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. And on Tuesday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at which time the Funeral Services will begin. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
