Oh Aunt Irene, I was always amazed when we talked at how actively you still were involved in all you loved. You were like the enegizer bunny that never stopped. You are such a beautiful person inside and out......so loving and caring......our angel here on earth. You simply were the best of the best and I will forever be grateful you chose to keep us in your life. I bet there is a huge welcoming party going on and I am forever jealous of the angels until we meet again one day. For now I will cherish our memories and forever love you! Tina,Dawn and family, I am so sorry that I could not be there,but my heart was with you. She is going to be missed by all who knew her.sending hugs and love.xoxoxo

My Aunt Irene with her Aunt Sofia Csontos (Csontos Mom). Guessing she is about 7 years old. Photo probably taken early ‘40’s ~ 1942? The boys at school used to tug at her braids & her brother Joseph (my Dad), came to her defense & threatened to beat those boys up if they didn’t stop. Stop they did!!

Oh my heart! Just a shock to hear of my beautiful Aunt Irene’s passing A gentle soul with a sweet demeanor. She was an amazing athlete & is pictured here with my Dad, her brother Joe Ternyik. They had joined me in celebrating my induction to James Caldwell HS Athletic Hall of Fame. Ironically, twenty two years after her graduation in ‘53, I found out that we shared the same teacher/coach, Mr. Dwight Burr. He would tell me great stories of Aunt Irene’s athleticism & she shares that athletic honor with me. Beneath her unassuming sweet gentle voice was a fierce humble competitor. She was a great inspiration to me as an athlete, mother, aunt & gardener. She will be in my memories & my heart for ever!!! Heaven has gained an absolute Angel. Hugs, prayers, light & support to Tina, Dawn, Emily, Becky, Johnny & Travis. Love you all so much!

Our hearts are saddened by Irene’s passing. She was such a dear person! We spent many an afternoon with her help making Pirogies at our church. The women’s auxiliary at St. Vladimir’s Ukranian Orthodox Church send their sincere condolences to Dawn & her family. God Bless, Sonia Szewczuk (sister-in-law of Irene’s Neice Janice)

I'm so sorry to hear the loss of your Mom. Your mom was such a sweet and caring person. I have many fond memories of us bowling together. She will be missed by so many. So sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. Sending condolences to your family. Irene was a lovely woman. I would see her at my sister, Maria's house a few times. My sister was blessed with such a good neighbor. Always heard of many nice things Irene did. I also remember her when I took my mom to the John Hancock office to pay her bill. I know she will be missed by many for her pleasant attitude and loyalty to others. RIP Irene. Caroline Servis

She shared her flower plants with me. That is a big deal. I will always see her in an Iris. When we chatted it was mostly about flowers and gardening. Chatting about flowers by the fireside… Pool side Hot tub side At parties in back yards At parties in the street Didn’t matter where or when I loved talking with her about The Garden Where things slowly grow Until they are unable to grow any more And they gracefully give themselves Back To the very place That birthed them ♥️ rest in bliss

She was the ultimate “softball mom” and a surrogate grandmother to every girl on the Lehigh softball team. What a treasure! I shed tears today - she will be missed.

Remembering all the great shore times, hanging out in Belmar and Point Pleasant, going to the beach, singing and dancing to “White Wedding” and “Sweet Dreams” or all the Sutni Szalonnas - she is greatly missed. I will feel her gentle and fun loving presence in every summer breeze. God, please take care of her and reunite her with her family in heaven; may your blessed angels bring he family comfort.
