Obituary of Karen Stanton Nolte
Karen Stanton Nolte, age 81, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. In her final days she was surrounded by her loving family.
Karen was born to Georgia and Norm Stanton in Detroit, Michigan and grew up with her two brothers in Mountainside, NJ. Karen raised her three sons in Morganville, NJ.
For nearly 40 years, Karen worked as a Medical Assistant at Women’s Physicians & Surgeons. She made lifelong friends with her co-workers and doctors and rarely went anywhere without being recognized and thanked for her service – three generations of women all remembered her fondly. While her sons often asked her to retire, she enjoyed working and did so well into her late 70’s.
Karen loved looking for shells on the beach, creating amazing food, Broadway shows, gardening and especially spending time with her children, grandchildren and dear friends. She also loved a good slot machine or two every now and then.
She is survived by her three sons: John of Freehold, Erik (Cori) of Colts Neck and Christopher (William Brand) of Bradenton, FL. Also, her brother, Kenneth (Judith) of Myrtle Beach, SC and many loving relatives and friends. Karen loved spending time with her grandchildren: Tess, Kate, Jay and Casey.
Per her wishes, there will be no formal service. Her family will plan a celebration of life at a later date. Those wishing to honor her may make a donation to the No Limits Café, a non-profit restaurant in Red Bank, NJ that employs adults with intellectual disabilities, at www.nolimitscafe.org
