I met Deb and Ray in the hospital and as a chaplain I was called to come and pray. We believe at end of life patients can still hear so we speak as if we are having a conversation. After several "conversations" alone with Ray, hoping he could hear, but not getting any signals from he that he could hear me, I was surprised to see his blue eyes pop WIDE open as soon as Deb came into the room. As a chaplain, I take no offense, but c'mon, Ray, nothin! LOL. Clearly, Ray delighted in Deb. Their love energized all their lifelong work together. I have been blessed to be in that sacred space with Deb and Ray in the last few days of his physical life.

Ray was an incredible friend. He used to stop by our shop and share his in depth political and religious knowledge and his fascinating views. Not only was he intelligent, he always lit the shop up with smiles. We were heartbroken to hear about his passing. But hope that he is in a wonderful place full of peace and happiness.
