I remember Louie at Ken & Nicole Garofano-Wallace’s ’ wedding reception. The family all gathered eating appetizers. Louie his son Louie, Father Tony, Carmella,Tony Mottola and son Michael, myself (Diane) Charlie, Debbie.
It reminded me of my Italian family.
What a beautiful wedding!
Louie was laughing, talking and said, ‘this is the best food. It’s so good...I can’t stop eating!’ We all laughed.
I know...with all the fond memories.
Louie will always be in all of your hearts.

To The Carotenuto Family,
Kenny and I send you our heartfelt and sincere sympathy and prayers on the loss of your amazing Dad, Grandfather and Brother.
Although Kenny and Louie worked together for many years and saw more of each other regularly than I did, I treasured my own friendship with Louie and Lil. The four of us shared many nights of dancing together to one of our favorite local bands back in the 70's. Then, usually breakfast together before heading home.
Frequently, Kenny would take leftovers from our dinners at home to Louie when they were working nights. On occasion, Louie would get comments from then chief Hibbs wondering where the food came from. Louie would grin and say Judy sent it to me!
Louie and Lil came to our sons wedding in NYC in 2004. Lil marveled at the view from the three-sided, upper level balcony looking down onto the dining tables and dance floor. There was definitely more dancing with our friends, The Carotenutos, that night too!
We loved when Richie Quade and Mike Giglio brought Louie to visit us at our home in Delaware. My 94 year old mom still talks of her chat with Louie that day. They realized they grew up not too far from each other in the Adelphia/Howell area and knew some of the same people.
I'll always remember Louie's wonderful, genuine smile. His beautiful, friendly personality. The fun jokes he told. My telephone chats with him whenever he and Kenny would talk on the phone. Him saying "Hey, Baby" when I would pick up the phone. I'll cherish our friendship until we all meet again. Give my hugs to Lil.
Love you buddy, Judy

Louie was one of the best things that ever happened to Freehold Borough making the streets safe. When he got on the police force back in the mid 60's, the town was going through troubled times.
I met Louie in 1970 when I got on the force. He was such a nice guy. Being a rookie, he took me under his wing and helped me anytime I needed guidance. Over the years, we developed a very strong bond. I saw him handle every type incident you could think of as a police officer. Nothing phased him. He was a senior patrolman to me and I looked up to him because of the man he was. He was a great husband, father and a hell of a cop.
After he made Sergeant, he got me on his shift and we worked together for about six years every day until he made Lieutenant. That was a sad day for me, but a happy and well-deserved day for Louie.
We socialized almost every weekend. He was a heller on the dance floor especially with my wife, Judy. His wife, Lil, and I got tired so we sat down and watched them dance. We had a lot of laughs.
When I got off the force, I moved to Pennsylvania and then to Delaware. Two of my great friends and partner police officers, Mike Giglio and Richie Quade, surprised me and brought Louie to Delaware to visit us. When I saw Louie, I broke down in tears.
May God Bless You my good friend. Ken Collins
