Obituary of Abigail Cirilo

Abigail Cirilo passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the age of 94. She was born March 1, 1927 in Luquillo, Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Marcial Lopez and Carlota Rodriguez. Abigail resided in Manhattan, New York for over 70 years. She moved to Howell in late 2020 with her family. Abigail, better known to loved ones as, “Mama,” was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family, friends and neighbors. She took on the role of surrogate mother to many who were blessed to know her, especially John, Emerita and Hector. Abigail is predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Juan Cirilo, her son Juan Cirilo, Jr. and her many beloved siblings. Surviving are her daughters, Milagros Hernandez and Emerita Dahl, three grandchildren, John Cirilo III, Peter Hernandez and Joann Garcia, nieces Felicita Rivera and Evelyn Mahoney, nephews Hector Rodriguez, Carlos Rivera, and Willie Martinez, goddaughter Nancy Rodriguez, and three great-grandchildren Manuel Garcia, Jr., Mariah Garcia and Mechelle Garcia. The viewing will be held on Saturday, August 14, at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday at 11:45 a.m. at Saint Raymond Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
