Obituary of Jerry Gottlieb
Jerry Gottlieb died Sunday morning, June 27th 2021 at his home in Millstone Township New Jersey after a yearlong period of illness. His Funeral Service will be held this Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold NJ. He will be interred at alater date at the Brigadier General William C Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ after receiving military honors.
Mr. Gottlieb was born on December 12th, 1927 in New York City, to Anna and David Louis Gottlieb. “Jerry” as everyone knew him, was a retail business owner in New Rochelle, NY for 35 years where he and his wife Estelle were well known and respected members of their community.
Serving in the United States Navy during both the WW II and Korean War eras, Jerry was most proud of his service and long affiliation with the Intrepid Museum where he shared his history, and that of the navy, with visitors from around the world.
Upon retirement Jerry and Estelle moved to Millstone Township and made their residence in the original farmhouse first purchased by Estelle’s parents in 1945. Proud members of their local New Jersey community, Jerry will be remembered with love and affection by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years Estelle, his two sons, Steven and Arthur and daughter in-laws Julia Mercado and Wendy Gottlieb.
