Norman Wexler was one of our founding members of The Old Glory Cruisers Car Club in1998. The Old Glory Cruisers was formed by 5 guys sitting around drinking coffee and talking. They enjoyed each other’s company, their love of classic cars, and they looked forward to attending the car shows together. They saved parking spots for one another. There were many fun times ahead for these 5 guys. Laughs galore!
During the past 22 years the club lost 3 very dear members...and on June 21, 2020, we lost our very dear friend and devoted member, Norman Wexler. Norman was usually driving around in his blue 1963 Ford Falcon, or his blue 1971 Ford Mustang.
The 5 guys could be found occupying a few tables drinking coffee at Dunkin Donuts after a local car show, or out for Chinese Food or the Buffet, Breakfast at Perkins or meeting up at the Blue Claws to take in a game.
The "Old Glory Cruisers" Car Show was always a great success thanks to the members hard work and to Norman. Norman was our extremely organized, very funny, talented and determined treasurer. He counted every donated dollar, that would later be handed to a Disabled Veteran in need. The "Old Glory Cruisers" Car Show is being held this October and sadly Norman won’t be there. It will feel like Norman is at a Blue Claws game -The Blue Claws was Priority #1! We would expect him to stop by after the game, like he always did. We know he will be watching to make sure we have everything in place, that we need, that day! We won’t have the laughs or his amazing wit, and we will feel this great loss!
Norman loved his classic cars, his car shows, and his baseball games. He loved to sit, chat and enjoy a cup of coffee. He also adored the Sun!
Great times and great friends are all but memories we have left, to cherish.
Rest Peacefully “Uncle Norman”, our dear friend, mentor and club-member

There probably isn't a Blueclaws staff member who didn't know Norm. Always friendly, called you by name, and enjoyed our team. You will be missed Norm!

I am very saddened to hear of the news of the passing of my friend, Norm. During my 20 years at the BlueClaws, there was never a bigger fan or supporter of the BlueClaws, and he attended almost every game that we played. He will be missed sitting in his favorite seat in Section 111, but I know he will always be with us....

I met Norman at the Lakewood BlueClaws baseball park some 20 years ago. I was sitting behind him and a group of his friends and they were all having such a great time. Two or three days later, at a game, he turned around and said "hello". And like the movie, Sleepless in Seattle, it all started with hello. That began a friendship that lasted until his last breath. He was my Phillies game buddy, my "let's go to lunch" buddy, and my teatime friend when I moved to Manchester less than two years ago. There are no words to express the sadness in my heart at the loss of my dear friend and partner in crime. Norman, rest in peace my friend,
and enjoy the ballpark view from the best seat in the house.
