Obituary of Kathryn A. Lithgow

Kathryn A. Lithgow, 82, of Cream Ridge passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Lithgow was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and had resided in Freehold before moving to Cream Ridge. She was principle account clerk for the County of Monmouth before her retirement. Mrs. Lithgow was a charter member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Freehold where she was an active member of the Women’s Group. She was a Girl Scout Monmouth County Neighborhood Chairperson and Girl Scout Leader. Mrs. Lithgow was well known for her cake baking and baked for many people and events in the Freehold area and beyond. Surviving are her husband, Fred W. Lithgow; her children, Robert W. Lithgow, Sr., Barbara L. McGackin and husband Terry, Scott W. Lithgow and wife Theresa, and Nancy B. Fernicola and husband Mark; a brother, Daniel M. Duffy and wife Kathie; a sister, Dorothy B. Dailey and husband Ray; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Seitz, Kristine Elkins, Robert Lithgow, Jr., Kayla J. Barkalow, Ryan S. Lithgow, Nicolette C. Lithgow, Daniel R. Fernicola, and Christopher M. Fernicola; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance would be appreciated.
