Obituary of Francis J. Black

Francis J. Black, 92, of Lakewood died on October 15, 2018 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick Township. He was born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania and had resided in Freehold and Jackson before moving to Lakewood. He was an 8th grade science and mathematics teacher at the Clifton T. Barkalow School, Freehold Township for 30 years before his retirement. Mr. Black graduated from East Stroudsburg University and Rutgers University. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 1454, Freehold. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Black in 2013; a daughter, Janette Etoll; a brother, Robert Patrick Black; and a stepson, Steve Moosick. Surviving are a daughter, Linda M. Eliades; his step children, Rosemary Leverett, Charles Moosick, Lynn Mioduszewski, and Leigh Wendlandt; a brother, Michael Barrett, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday, October 24, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Donations in memory of his daughter Janette may be made to the Susan G.
