Obituary of Barbara Cavallaro Szulecki

Barbara Cavallaro Szulecki, 91 of Manalapan Township, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Born in New York City, New York, she and her late husband Edward moved to rural Manalapan in 1965 to raise their family. They loved their boys immensely and in their eyes -- their boys could do no wrong. She also loved animals very much and had an innate ability to connect with them. She had a “green-thumb” and loved to garden. She always worked selflessly and tirelessly to provide for her family. Her husband, Edward, died in 2012 at age 95. She was also predeceased by her parents, Mary and Frank Cavallaro; and sisters, Connie Pappalardo and Nancy Appignani. She is survived by her three sons Edward Jr. and fiancee Mary of Jackson; Gregory and wife, Kim of Cream Ridge; Stephen of Highlands; three grandchildren, Laura, Christopher and wife Kim, and Daniel; two great-grandchildren, Natalia and Jackson; and former daughter-in-law, Tanya Orell Getta. She is also survived by sister, Elvira Cody of Staten Island, NY and brother, Vito Cavallaro of West Chester, PA. Visitation will be held at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 3 to 7 PM. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM.
