There is not a single time that I pick up a needle with thread that I do not think of how Aunt Mary taught me how to make drapes. I was a newly wed. I left New York right after work, drove to Freehold and right after breakfast, she taught me. The lined drapes were 3 yards long, and wide enough to cover a 1 foot wall. The pattern matched perfectly. I recently used this skill again, telling my grand daughter how Aunt Mary showed me. Abigail' s remark, "That aunt must have been a very skilled and smart lady." She was amazing..
