Mom, Kay Blonsky , loved Lydia more as a sister , than a cousin. Though she is in a dementia care nursing home she asks about your mom always . Never does a visit go by where she doesn't ask about Lydia and hope she could see her again. I am sorry for your loss but know there is peace .

Ray and I want you to know that our prayers and thoughts are with the family. You may not remember us, but Lydia was a good friend to my mother and Ray's mother as well. She was a special lady! Donna Naylor

Lydia was more known to me as Sue's mom, Becky's and Petes grandma , Piper and Fin's and Sean' s great grandma and other family members. When I first met Lidia she welcome me on family gatherings whether it was slipping hot coco, Christmas caroling or other holidays, never making me like an outsider and treated me with respect always welcoming me into her family and leaving me a strong sense that I belong. Not having much family of my own then her kindness meant so much to me probably more the she could even imagine. I am sure to her I was Sue's friend, Becky' s horse back rider instructor and that particular girl who would just seem to be around and subsequently would remained over in their lives for over 30 years. In more recent years she did me the great favor of editing some of my writing. Never asking or accepting anything in return. This was a enormous task since I am dysgraphic and ever word and sentences need some type of repairing, She was always selfless and encouraging and taught me along the way. I will never forget her words ... calling me " a strong person with great character " I am not sure she knew how much that meant to me since she was the very essence of what those words mean. With her leaving this world I have the hope that her strength so many of her wonderful character traits live on and will continue to do so with her family and all that people that she has touched. "Sue'S Mom " ..was more to be then just a friends mom , she was person of dignity, a person with a great sense of family and someone who believed in community , she was family . I greatly admired this women and she will be missed but her presence will remain, just like I am sure she intended it to, in her family , friends and her community for many many years to come. I feel honored to have known Lydia Wikoff ( Sue' mom ) and I know this world is better place for her being here.
