Melanie was one of my first grade students at East (Sullivan) School in North Adams,Ma. She was a vibrant little child and ahead of her years in many ways. I will always hold her memory in a special place in my heart. My deepest condolences to all of the members of Melanie's family. Ann Cain

Im still in shock over her loss..girls your mom loved you so much.we lasted talked when her place in Williamstown was broken into..thats when she told me how much she missed you and the grandkids, and needed to be back with you all..im glad she was able to spend more time with you,even if it was for a short time...she was a caring person with a great big smile..please remember she is now no longer in pain..she will always be watching over you. ..R.I.P Melanie. I had the good fortune to meet Melanie in 1995, when we were both volunteer editors/hosts of an online writing group. (Yes we did have the Internet in 1995! :). Her amazing sense of humor and quick wit drew me to her and we became fast friends. I spent much time with her during these years, driving out to Western MA to meet her beautiful babies and visit and talk and mostly laugh! Laughing with Melanie was a (frequent) memorable experience. I have a hard time recalling many moments when her beautiful smile wasn't lighting up her face. She was faced with challenges throughout the time I knew her and never let it get her down. Cassie and Chrissie, I am so glad that I had the pleasure to know your mom, and you as well. Our thought are with you during this time of sadness and we know that the beautiful spirit of your Mom will see you through. Much love ❤️ Laura M.

you entered my life and we both said where have we been all our lives, my sister my best friend I am so sadden but have to reach out to appreciate all the good you brought to me, JJ and omg Teddy you will always be in my heart, with me, laughing with me, and supporting me, you are the best friend I ever had and do have and you will kick my ass if I fook up along the way
