Obituary of Christopher K. Hughes

Christopher K. Hughes, 57, of Freehold Township died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at home. Mr. Hughes was born in Cortland, N.Y. and had lived in Canton, Michigan before moving to Freehold Township 25 years ago. He was a systems engineer for Bull Information Systems, Langhorne, Pennsylvania where he was employed for the past 28 years. Mr. Hughes received a Masters Degree in Mathematics from Kent State University in 1973. He was a member of Old Tennent Presbyterian Church, Tennent where he served as an elder; a member of Monmouth Council, Boy Scouts of America and Scout Master of Troop No. 454 for boys with special needs, an Eagle Scout and member of the Order of the Arrow; and a member of B.P.O.E. No. 1454, Freehold. He was predeceased by a brother, Clark Hughes. Surviving are his wife, Leni Shoup Hughes; a son and daughter-in-law, Phillip C. and Jamie Hughes, Burlington Flats, N.Y.; three daughters, Sara E., Amy C. and Laura M. Hughes, all of Freehold Township; his parents, Kenneth W. and Eleanor Davey Hughes, Parkersburg, West Virginia; three sisters, Cheryl Fryer and her husband, Robert, Langhorne, Pennsylvania, Carlene Smith and her husband, David, Lisle, Illinois, and Caryn Decker, Indianapolis, Indiana; two grandsons, Max and Ben; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Old Tennent Presbyterian Church.
