Gary fixed my favorite pair of cowboy boots. We had nice conversations about life -- how good it was to grow up in the time we did. He made my boots brand-new, I'll never get rid of them and will always remember what a nice man he was. Thank you !! Barbara

I want to thank everyone who came to Gary's funeral and to my home after. The service and meeting before were wonderful tributes to Gary and how he has devoted his life to helping others. To the people who brought food, a A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU. We would send you a thank you card, however we don't have a way of knowing which of you brought what. Please accept out gratitude. We are most appreciative. Sandy Marinko

Gary was one of the most humble men I've ever known. He ALWAYS took time for a joke to put a smile on someone's face. Even when he was in pain, Gary always placed the needs of others before his own. He truly LIVED the principles that were passed on to him, and passed those same values onto others EVERY chance he got. Gary, I will always remember the day we met in "those rooms" that would soon change our lives almost 14 years ago. I will never forget us walking "shoulder to shoulder" in those early days, and in retrospect watching The One Who Has All Power soften both of our hearts and strengthen our spirits. You will surely be missed, but your spirit lives on through the MANY lives you've touched along the way... I am one of those you've touched. Keep the coffee brewing, Brother! Love, Mike & Kathy Lawrence

I grew up in Englishtown, and was close to the Ruda family. Gary was much younger the me, but I remember Gary as a young man. I didn't know him as an adult, but I know that He came from a Good and Loving family. The Ruda's were almost like family to us when we were growing up. Englishtown was a smally town and we were all close to each other. Love and Sympathy to the family. Harvey and Joan Resnick.

What a wonderful tribute to my cousin Gary. To have so many people leave such loving thoughts and memories for all to share. I am especially grateful to Stacey who mentioned Gary's comeback line when asked how he was feeling. I couldn't help but smile through the tears at the thought of it. It was so Gary. Of course my heart hurts for my Aunt Vivian, my cousins, and their respective children. Alissa, I know I'm not telling you anything new when I say how much your father adored you. I'm sorry for your loss. Also, to all of Gary's friends who were an integral part of his life. There is now a void where an incredible shining light once was. Gary's gone, but he left a piece of his soul with each of you so that his light would shine forever. I'll miss him.

I had the privilege to know Gary at first through business I conducted with him, and later through his work with other people. I was always so impressed and inspired by his attitude in the face of his personal hardships. He gave me hope where I had thought it lost forever. He was a man's man, and yet a gentle spirit who always persevered. He is a personal hero and I will always rememeber the kindness and patience he taught me by example. A man to always feel grateful to be around. I will never forget him. God bless him and keep him as I remember him, a man I will always try to live up to. Until we meet again amigo.

My friend Gary died Sunday morning. I'm feeling very sad today. I met Gary about 13 years ago. I asked him to be my sponsor because I wanted what he had. He was a wonderful spiritual man. He was always smiling or telling a joke. He had a great sense of what life was all about. Helping people. He was my brother and my friend. He guided me through the last 13 years of my life and the only thing he asked of me was that I helped others. I know God keeps us sober, but Gary was a very willing channel for God to work through. Gary's legacy will carry on forever because his words and actions will be remembered by hundreds of people who knew him. It was a privilege to be a part of Gary's life and I will always love him. To Lys, Don and the Kids I'm sorry, and I love you guys.

Gary's spirit will surely live on in the many lives he has touched and forever changed. His physical presence will be painfully missed, but his laughter, humility and wisdom will continue to bring a smile to those who he loved and who loved him dearly. Gary truly "got it" and lived his life sharing "it" with everyone he came in contact with. He taught me about a "loving God" and through his actions showed us all how to live a life that is happy joyous and FREE. We are all blessed to have had a chance to love and know Gary and I'm grateful for those memories that will forever live in my heart and soul. And I will always laugh out loud when I remember the hundreds of times I asked Gary "How do you feel today?" and his serious response was always "THE SAME WAY I DID YESTERDAY, WITH MY HANDS!" With love and warm regards in this time of loss, Stacey

Gary, 4 years ago, you entered my life, "Welcome, smile and keep coming back your in the right place.", are the words you said to me. Then I really got to know you and when you saw me you would say, "Hi Cutie" followed by one of your warm, loving hugs that some how always made me feel I was going to be okay. You have taken the time for me when I needed it, for that I will always be grateful. You will always be in my heart and my memories. I am very honored to have been a part of your life and you a part of mine. I, as many of us, will carry your strong message of inspiration and hope to many others. You are a true angel, a guardian angel to me. You will be missed a great deal but never forgotten!! Love and Gratitude Always, Lisa
