I just learned of Brother Gregory's passing in the most recent edition of Catholic New York. Brother was one of my teachers at Cardinal Spellman HS in the Bronx in 1965. It also happened that his family was friends with a cousin of mine, and we had all grown up in Holy Name parish on the West Side in NY. He and I stayed in touch over the last 40 years, as I followed his travels around the country after he left Spellman. We exchanged Christmas cards for all those years and would update each other on what was happening in our lives. He was a wonderful Christian Brother, an incredible teacher, a good friend, and most of all, a man of God. May God grant him the eternal rest he so richly deserves. I will miss him, especially at Christmas time.
