Obituary of Robert L. Brown

Robert L. Brown, 87 of Millstone Township passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Tuskegee, Alabama, he lived in Florida prior to moving to Millstone Township 58 years ago. Mr. Brown was an assembly line worker for Wonderbread, East Brunswick for 20 years, retiring 24 years ago. He was predeceased by his wife, Berthine Brown in 1996; his son, Robert L. Brown, Jr. in 1993; a son-in-law, Edward Cottman in 2001; and four grandchildren, Michael Alexander, Mona Brown, Ernestine Washington, and Wallace Tatum. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnnie and Louise Brown, Suwanee, Georgia, and Qareeb A. and Rajeeyah Bashir, Trenton; two daughters, Sadie Brown, Matawan, and Katie Cottman, Somerset; three sisters, Lula McBride and Estelle Monk, both of Asbury Park, and Rosa Spinks, Neptune Township; 14 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
