Obituary of George J. Etlinger

George J. Etlinger, 59, of Freehold Township died Sunday, October 2, 2011. He was born in Bronx, N.Y. He was a Captain with the Freehold Township Police Department where he served for 25 years before his retirement. After his retirement, he was an agent with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Freehold. He was a member of Policeman’s Benevolent Association No. 209, Freehold Township. Surviving are his former wife, Sandra Schingo Etlinger; two sons, Frank and Michael Etlinger; a daughter, Gina Marie Etlinger; a brother, Frank Etlinger; a sister, Cecelia Davidson; two nieces and a nephew. Visiting will be held at the St. Rose of Lima Chapel, Freehold on Thursday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a wake service to be held at 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations to Michael Pepe Cancer Foundation, 238 Main Ave, Apt. 1, Stirling, NJ 07980 would be appreciated.
