Anna Conover

Obituary of Anna Conover

Anna Conover, 96, of Freehold entered eternal life at home on October 27, 2011. Her life, so well lived, was marked by a generous, kind, and loving spirit; always motivated by the best of intentions for others. To her family, husband James, son James, sister Mary, cousins, nieces and nephews, she was advisor, confidant, protector, and friend. Home for Anna was a place of gathering, friendship, and fun. Anna was talented, she could do last minute alterations just before a wedding, create costumes for a play or Halloween, or wield a saw and hammer to build a dog house, only to name a few. And enjoying the company of others was of greatest priority. Her loyalty to her family, her dedication to God and the church, her love of singing in the choir at St. Rose parish, and her joyful sense of humor is indeed inspirational. She lived her life with enthusiasm and courage, and even in spite of age and failing health, never ceased to live it to the fullest. She was the widow of James Conover who died in 1983. Surviving are her son, Rev. James A. Conover; a nephew, Charles Arbachesky and his wife Diane; three great nephews, Jay Borris, Kevin Malone, and Stephen Arbachesky; two great nieces, Judy Moriarty and Amy Szeligowski; six great great nieces and nephews, and three great great great nieces. Visiting hours will be held at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold on Sunday from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Wake Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday at 10:15 a.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery.
