Obituary of Anthony Lindburgh Pitts
Anthony Lindburgh Pitts, 49 of Freehold died Monday at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Neptune Township and was a lifelong resident of Freehold.
He was a cooking instructor for the State of New Jersey for 30 years at the Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital and later at New Lisbon Developmental Center, New Lisbon.
He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, Freehold.
A brother, Vincent Pitts, died in 2002.
Surviving are a daughter, Chantay Pitts; a stepson, Ahmad Wilkins; his parents, Jesse and Ceola Bonner Pitts; two brothers, Nathan and McKenzie Pitts; two sisters, Rose Marie Calhoun and Aldertha Pitts; a stepson, Jason Lawrence; two grandchildren, Zamere Desai and Zasear Butts; his godchildren, Brittany Bonner, Kelly, Ashley, Jason, Jr. and Monserrat Nicholson; and friends, Jason, Freddie Cobb, and Juicy.
The viewing will be held at the New Hope Baptist Church, Freehold on Monday from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Funeral services will be held at noon followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
