Obituary of Ann Gregory Faris
Ann Gregory Faris, age 60, of Roberts Road, Millstone Township, passed away Thursday, November 30 at her home surrounded by her family.
A native of Washington County, Kentucky, she was born on January 14, 1951, to the late Bill and Martha Sharp Gregory. Ann was an alumna of Eastern Kentucky University and Rutgers University, where she earned a Masters Degree in Library Science. During her career, she worked as a librarian for the Marion County (Kentucky) High School, the Washington County (Kentucky) Public Library, and the Meadow Lakes retirement community in East Windsor, New Jersey.
She met her husband, Bill Faris, in 1979 while vacationing in Spain. The two were married on June 27, 1981. They were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Carolyn Gregory Faris.
Ann was an active member of Old Tennent Presbyterian Church in Tennent, New Jersey, where she served as an elder and a deacon, and performed in the handbell choir.
Ann is survived by her devoted husband and daughter, as well as a sister, Margy Crowley (David) of Riverside, California, and brothers Hank Gregory of Springfield, Kentucky, and John Gregory (D. Cameron Lawrence) of Louisville, Kentucky; nephew and niece, Dan and Lisa Crowley of Riverside, California; and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be December 2 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. at Higgins Memorial Home at 20 Center Street in Freehold. Funeral services will be held December 3 at 11 a.m. at Old Tennent Church at 448 Tennent Road in Tennent, with a reception to follow. Burial will be December 10 at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church cemetery near Springfield, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Samaritan Center, located in Manalapan, New Jersey, and Heifer Project International.
