Obituary of Elizabeth Balin Lacewell

Elizabeth Balin Lacewell, 91 of New Market, Virginia, formerly of Freehold, died Saturday, January 21, 2012. Born in Freehold, she lived in Margate, Florida prior to moving to New Market 23 years ago. She was an Administrative Assistant for the Monmouth County Department of Agriculture, Freehold. Prior to that, she was employed at her family’s business, the Mount-Butcher Real Estate Agency. She was a lifelong member of Court St. Rose of Lima No. 737, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Freehold. Her son, Thomas R. Lacewell, died in 1982. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Kevin Smeltzer, Capon Bridge, West Virginia, and Donna and Eric Sorensen, Woodbridge, Virginia; a sister, Ann Megill, Farmingdale; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
