Obituary of Mary Constance Jones Riehl

Mary Constance Jones Riehl, 79, of Freehold passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2012 surrounded by her adoring family at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born and raised in Cape May, Mary attended Our Lady Star of the Sea School. She lived in Florida and northern New Jersey before moving to Freehold in 1972. She worked in Manhattan as a secretary for Chesebrough Ponds, Inc. before starting her family. Mary was involved in Cape May’s Little Theater, Boy Scouts, Catholic charities, was president of the Point Ivy Homeowner’s Association, and was a proud wife of one of the Woodpeckers, a Freehold softball team for over three decades. She enjoyed sewing, reading, politics, and traveling. Most of all she was devoted to her family. She is survived by Jack, her loving husband of 46 years; her son, John and his wife Shannon, Howell Township: her son, Michael and his wife Heather, West Windsor Township; and four grandchildren, Lora, Michael, Regan, and Trey. Mary was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Keenan Jones, Sr. She is survived by her sister, Madeline Harshman, Cape May; and numerous nieces and nephews.Family and friends are invited for visitation on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine R.C. Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
