Obituary of Dorothy T. Rooney

Dorothy T. Rooney, 89, of Spring Lake Heights died Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township. She was born in Freehold and had resided there before moving to Spring Lake Heights 25 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Catharine’s Church, Spring Lake and a former communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. She was the dining room manager at the American Hotel and Freehold Gardens. Her husband, Jack E. Rooney, died in 1972. Surviving are nephews and nieces, Richard and Susan Daesener, Point Pleasant and August and Janet Daesener, Bridgeville, Delaware, Susan Daesener, Freehold, Gary Dore, Freehold, and Marguerite Dore, California; her great nephews and nieces, Samantha Daesener, Freehold Borough, August and Jacqueline Daesener, Freehold Borough, Richard and Dona, Daesener, Cream Ridge, Heather and Jim Cadranell, Summit, Christopher Daesener, Point Pleasant, her great great nieces and nephew, Harmony, Alexis, Erica, Hannah, Gretchen and August Daesener. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima R. C. Church, Freehold on Monday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to St. Catharine’s Church, Spring Lake would be appreciated. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
