Obituary of Ronald J. Karpin

Ronald J. Karpin, 69, of Freehold Township died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Geraldine Thompson Care Center, Wall Township. Mr. Karpin was born in Passaic. He served in the New Jersey Air National Guard for ten years. Mr. Karpin was a consultant for the National Coalition Against Gambling. Mr. Karpin was a graduate of Bryant University, Smithfield, Rhode Island and University of Rhode Island where he earned a Master of Science Degree. He also attended Brookdale Community College where he earned an Associate of Arts Degree and Fairleigh Dickinson University and Virginia Commonwealth University. He was an elder at Old Tennent Presbyterian Church, Tennent and a member of the Civil War Preservation Trust. Surviving are his mother, Agnes Hafner Karpin; and his cousins, Johanna Brietfeller, Leo Hafner, Ingrid and Richard Harris, and Nancy and Rudy Gollatz. Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Amawalk Hill Cemetery, Yorktown Heights, N.Y. on Monday at 1:00 p.m.
