Obituary of Patricia A. Ekdahl

Patricia A. Ekdahl, 77, of Freehold Township died Friday, April 6, 2012 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Ekdahl was born in Freehold and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine R. C. Church, Freehold Township. She was a member of a card club for over 50 years and was an accomplished bowler. Surviving are her husband, John E. Ekdahl; two sons, Jay Ekdahl and Cathy Rediker and Thomas Ekdahl; a daughter, Patty Leopold and her husband Jules; two brothers, George Dewey Murphy and Robert Murphy; a sister, Elizabeth Henderson; and five grandchildren, Michael, Shannon, Kaitlyn, Alanna and Matthew. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. The Funeral Liturgy will follow at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Memorial donations to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
