Obituary of Anna M. Ward

Anna M. Ward, 86, of Freehold Township died Friday, April 13, 2012 at Applewood Estates Healthcare Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Ward was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and had resided in Old Bridge Township for many years and in Forked River before moving to Freehold Township six years ago. Mrs. Ward was a secretary for the Old Bridge Township Board of Education before her retirement in 1987. She was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine R.C. Church, Freehold Township; a member of the Old Bridge Elks Lodge Auxiliary, the Old Bridge Education Association, and the Pheasant Run Entertainment Community, Forked River. Her husband, Francis Joseph Ward, died in 1999. Surviving are a son, Brian Ward and his wife Patricia; three daughters, Ellen Powell, Nancy Dulac and her husband, Bill, and Peggy Anslinger and her husband, Nick; a brother, Joseph Kreiser, Yorktown Heights, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. Memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-16905 would be appreciated.
