Obituary of Martha Bell Wright

Martha Bell Wright, 89, of Hamilton Township, formerly of Freehold, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012 at home. She was born to the late William and Emma Ceceilia Hyman on December 24, 1922 in Edenton, North Carolina. In 1938 she left Norfolk, Virginia and Moved to Freehold where she resided for over 69 years. Martha was the mother of seven children and two of whom have predeceased her, Nathaniel Wright (1991), and Martha Wright (2001), and her late husband, Major Wright (1993). Mrs. Wright was employed by Pine Brook Nursing Home, Englishtown, as a certified nurse’s aide, retiring in 1981. She leaves to mourn her passing four daughters, Augustine Brown and Willie Anderson, both of Hamilton Township, Linda Gill, Freehold, and Antoinette Wright-Butts, Norfolk, Virginia; a son, Thomas Wright, Paterson; 28 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends may call at the New Hope Baptist Church, First and Center Streets, Freehold on Tuesday from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. at the Church. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
