Obituary of Cyprian D. Timofeev
Cyprian D. Timofeev, of Freehold passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 surrounded by his loving daughters and sons-in-law. He was born in Hillside and raised on a farm in Freehold Township along with his brother and sister. His father, Evtiv Timofeev was born in Russia and his mother, Vera Podobed Timofeev was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Cyp worked for Lectro Products for over 40 years as a supervisor. He was a wiz at math and became a financial consultant. He was a member of Manalapan Township Fire Company No. 1 for over 40 years and served as Chief and Treasurer. He was also treasurer of the Manalapan Township Firemen’s Relief Association.
The salty seas were good to “Captain Cyp”, as he was an avid fisherman out at Sandy Hook. He shared his love of fishing and gardening with his daughters, sons-in-law, and five grandchildren. His wife Flo was the first mate who followed him on all his voyages. We will all miss his “fishy” stories.
“Fred” as he was affectionately known by his grandsons shared his love of cooking with all the kids. The grandkids would sit waiting for second helpings of chili or soup. Cyp loved his “boys”: Tim, Joe, Nick, and Rob and was proud of all their accomplishments.
Cyp had a special relationship with his “only granddaughter” as he affectionately called her. They shared many lunches laughing and discussing old photos, his cat and the weather. They would kid each other while having subs looking at old black and white photos.’
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Florence and his parents Evtif and Vera Podobed Timofeev and his sister Martha Rogers.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Scott Weber and Barbara and Tony Yuhas, all of Manalapan; his grandsons, Timothy (Stephanie Weber), Joseph, Nicholas, Robert Yuhas; his granddaughter, Kelly Weber, and his newborn great grandson, Jake Timothy Weber. He also leaves behind his brother, Martin (Alice) Timofeev, Bridgewater and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved cat, Sammy.
Visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
