Obituary of Mary Ann Rau
Mary Ann Rau, 74 of Marlboro Township died Thursday, June 14, 2012 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Viroqua, Wisconsin, she lived in Wyandanch, NY and Manalapan Township for 44 years prior to moving to Marlboro Township six months ago.
Mrs. Rau was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America 737 Court St. Rose of Lima.
Her husband, Kenneth J. Rau, died in 1995.
Surviving are three sons, Chief Warrant Officer Joseph W. Rau, U.S.N., Ret., Fountain, Florida, Stephen T. Rau, Ashburn, Virginia, and Michael J. Rau, Toms River; five daughters, Sharon M. Muso, Jackson Township, Julie A. Aimalefoa, San Diego, California, Katrina M. Kirsch, Delray Beach, Florida, Rachel A. Rau, Toms River, and Rose A. Griswold, Marlboro Township; four brothers, George, Thomas, Raymond and Joseph Bowers; her grandchildren, Celina, Caitlin, William, Molly, Ryan, Johnathan, K.J., Kenny, Paige, Samantha, Kelsey and Andrew; and two great grandchildren, Aiden and Kaylee.
Calling hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Sunday, June 17, 2012 from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold. Interment will follow at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. Donations in her memory to the St. Rose of Lima Development Committee, 51 Lincoln Place, Freehold, NJ 07728 would be appreciated.
