Obituary of Philip D. Guth

Philip D. Guth, 64, of Freehold Township died Thursday, June 28, 2012 at home. He was born in Neptune Township and had resided in Freehold all his life. Mr. Guth served with the U. S. Navy from 1967 to 1969. He was employed at the Colts Neck Township Board of Education Building and Grounds Department before his retirement in 2010. He was a former member of the First United Methodist Church. Freehold. He was a model railroader and a member of Pine Creek Railroad, Allaire. He was also a Past President of the New Jersey Buildings and Grounds Association. He was predeceased earlier this year by his parents, Frederick G. and Hazel Guth. Surviving are his wife, Barbara A. Shields Guth; two sons, Jonathan Guth and his wife Jessalyn and Joshua Guth; a daughter, Emily Guth; a brother, Frederick Guth and a sister Betty Jane Guth-Snyder and her husband Scott. A memorial gathering will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations care of the family for an education fund would be appreciated.
