Obituary of Joyce Petroff Mele

Joyce (Petroff) Mele, 63, of Ridgefield, Connecticut, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Danbury Hospital, Danbury, Connecticut. She was born in Neptune, NJ, and resided in Ridgefield since 1995. Joyce received her bachelor’s degree from Drew University and her M.B.A from Monmouth University. She was a member of Walnut Hill Community Church in Bethel, CT, and held weekly Bible studies in her home. Joyce loved gardening, cooking, woodworking and spending summers on the beach. Surviving are her husband of 30 years, Raymond Mele; her three daughters, Elizabeth, Alexandra and Julianne; her mother, Ann Petroff, and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Elaine Petroff, David and Beth Petroff, and Gregory and Holly Petroff. The viewing will be held at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, NJ, on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, 81 West Main Street, on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Samaritan Health Center at 13 Rose St, Danbury, CT 06810.
