Obituary of Charles W. Mount
Charles W. Mount, 81, of Freehold died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Freehold and where he was a lifelong resident.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He was a rural route mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, Freehold. After his retirement from the postal service he was employed the Monmouth County Engineering Department for seven years.
Mr. Mount was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, a life member of Freehold Council No. 1672, Knights of Columbus, Monmouth Post No. 54, American Legion, B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 1454; and a life member of Engine and Hose Company No. 1 of the Freehold Fire Department, and the Freehold Exempt Fireman’s Association.
His wife, Theodora “Teddy” Mount died in 1996 and a son, Michael Mount, died in 1991.
Surviving are two sons, Charles W. Mount, Jr. and his wife Ellen and Richard Mount and his wife, Susan; a daughter, Nancy Fitts and her husband Robert; two brothers, Kenneth Mount and Joseph Mount and his wife, Dale ; and a sister, Dorothy Norman and her husband, Jack , grandchildren, Jennifer Mount, Lauren Mount, Lindsay Mount, Robert Fitts, Jr., Jesse Fitts and his wife Tia, Trevor and Haley Mount; two great grandchildren, Alize Wilbourne and Rylee Fitts, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery. Memorial donations to the Freehold First Aid and Emergency Squad, 18 Spring Street, Freehold, NJ 07728 would be appreciated.
