Obituary of Katherine Irene McCormick

Katherine Irene McCormick, 93, of Freehold died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at home. Mrs. McCormick was born in Freehold and was a lifelong resident of the area. Her husband, former Chief of Monmouth County Detectives and former Mayor of Freehold Township Albert V. McCormick, died in 1995. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Guy G. and Anne McCormick; two grandsons, Guy A. McCormick and his wife Emily and Kiel H. McCormick and his wife Courtney; four great grandchildren, Jackson Albert, Caitlin Marie, Maureen Katherine and Destiny McCormick; and several nieces and nephews. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-1905 would be appreciated.
