Obituary of Lelia Davis
Lelia Davis, 92, of Jackson Township died August 24, 2012 at Care One at Jackson. Mrs. Davis was born in Downs, Alabama and had resided in Englishtown and Freehold before moving to Jackson.
She was employed at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital for 35 years before her retirement in 1982.
Mrs. Davis was an active member for over 50 years of the New Beginnings Agape Christian Center, Freehold where she was a Mother of the church.
She was the widow of Ben Eddie Davis, Sr.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Ben Davis, Jr. and Rachel Davis; a daughter and son-in-law, Wilma Davis Forrest and Derwin Forrest; a brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Beatrice Pearson; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a great great grandson; and a host of niece and nephews.
The viewing will be held at the New Beginnings Agape Christian Center, 133 Throckmorton Street, Freehold on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
