Obituary of Joseph Avagliano
Joseph Avagliano, 79, of Jackson Township died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick Township.
Mr. Avagliano was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of Nutley Elks Lodge, the Italian- American Club of Jackson and an active member of the Greenbriar at Winding Ways community.
Before his retirement he was a partner of Eastern Sheet Metal, Roselle.
He was predeceased by a sister, Louise Wilson.
Surviving are his wife, Joan Monsorno Avagliano; three daughters Teresa Edwards and husband Paul, Lisa DeLuca and husband Charlie, and Barbara Jo Deveney and husband Howard; two stepdaughters, Carrie McCarthy and companion Charlie Meidhof and Tina McCarthy; three stepsons, Joseph, Michael and Steven McCarthy; three brothers, Peter, Thomas, and Alfred Avagliano; 12 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by interment at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to ALS Foundation would be appreciated.
