Obituary of John C. Mayerski
John C. Mayerski, 87, of Colts Neck Township died Saturday, September 22, 2012 surrounded by his loving family at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mr. Mayerski was born in Freehold and had resided there until moving 48 years ago to a home he built in Colts Neck Township.
He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II where he served on the USS Pert (PG95).
Mr. Mayerski was a disaster control officer for Naval Weapons Station Earle, Colts Neck where he was employed for 35 years. He was also the Colts Neck Township building inspector.
Everyone will miss his sense of humor and caring and loving ways.
His loving wife of 59 years, Grace Rose Mayerski, died in 2007. He was also predeceased by a son, John Mayerski, Jr. and a granddaughter, Emily Sue Davison.
Surviving are a son, Joseph Mayerski and his wife Katherine, Jackson Township; two daughters, Deborah Grace Kulha, Brick and Cynthia Davison and her husband Ernest, Beachwood a daughter-in-law, Vickie Mayerski, South Carolina; nine grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Memorial donations to Wounded Warriors Project would be appreciated.
