Obituary of Oscar I. Hammond
Oscar I. Hammond, 86, of Jackson Township died Friday, September 28, 2012 at home. He was born in Flint, Michigan.
Mr. Hammond served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War.
He was a factory worker for Phelps Dodge Company, South Brunswick.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 434, Englishtown.
His son, Oscar Joseph Hammond, died in 2001.
Surviving are his wife, Dora Schmid Hammond; a sister, Dorothy Dickhut; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Hammond; two grandsons, Joshua and his wife Melissa and Jason and his wife Christina; and two great grandchildren, Ava and Ryder.
Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
