Obituary of David James Watkins
David James Watkins, Jr., 67, of Freehold died Monday, October 8, 2012 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii.
He served in the U.S. Army for 21 years before retiring as a Master Sergeant. After his military career he was employed at the Liberty Oak Park, Freehold Township and Pultie Homes.
He was a bowler at Howell Lanes, Howell Township.
He was predeceased by a son, David J. Watkins, III.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Marie Franca Watkins; two daughters, Tracey Testa and her husband John and Cynthia Hoehl; a son, John Watkins and his wife Megan; two sisters, Barbara and Patsy; two brothers, Joseph Watkins and Ronald Watkins and his wife Linda; five grandchildren, Joseph and Jessica, Samantha, Gabriella, and Thomas; and a soon to be born grandchild, Alivia; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited gather at the funeral home on Monday at 10:15 a.m. The interment will follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown at 11:30 a.m.
