Obituary of Betty Lois Schmitz

Betty Lois Schmitz, 86, of Howell Township, surrounded by her family, peacefully went to be with God and departed loved ones on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Schmitz was born in Belford in 1926. Mrs. Schmitz was the owner and operator of the Colonial Acres, a residential healthcare facility in Millstone Township for 27 years before her retirement. Her husband, George Schmitz, died in 1995. She was also predeceased by a brother, Alfred Yarnall. Surviving are two sons, Rick Schmitz and his wife Brenda and Dennis Schmitz; two daughters, Betty Cartmill and her husband Robert and Donna Thompson; a brother, Ronald Yarnall; ten grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at noon followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to CentraState Medical Center Oncology Unit, Open Door of Freehold, or the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
