Obituary of Salvatore Vincitore

Salvatore Vincitore, 73, of Freehold Township died Friday, November 2, 2012 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, New Jersey. Mr. Vincitore was born in New York City and raised in the Greenville Section of Jersey City where he helped his parents run a local family business for many years. He moved with his family down to Freehold Township in 1969. He was a U.S. Army veteran who was stationed in Germany. He was a racehorse owner and trainer at Monmouth Park. Sal was predeceased by his mother Teresa Vincitore and father Aurelio Vincitore, his daughter, Melissa Vincitore in 1980, his wife from a previous marriage and mother of his children, Erika Vincitore, a brother, Michael Vincitore, and a sister, Jean Totaro. He is survived by his wife, Jana Dogan Vincitore, daughters Teresa Kyle and her husband Richard, Jean Pometti and her husband George, and his son, Aurelio Vincitore. He is also survived by his sister, Marie Vincitore Falotico and his grandchildren, Christopher Kyle, Melissa, Julia, and Amanda Pometti. Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Jeraldine Vincitore, four nephews and one niece. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold N. J. on Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. followed by entombment at St. Catherine’s Mausoleum, Wall Township N.J. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief Fund, c/o the American Red Cross would be appreciated.
