Obituary of John F. Synkowski

John F. Synkowski, of Freehold passed away at the age of 84. He was affectionately called Bingo John by those who knew him. He passed away at home after a long battle with cancer on Friday November 2, 2012. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. where he lived until he married his childhood sweetheart Betty and moved to Freehold 60 years ago. John’s life centered around his loving family, his relatives and his church. John was a Boy Scout Leader who served as a Eucharistic Minister at Saint Rose of Lima Church in Freehold and at CentraState Medical Center also in Freehold. He worked and ran Bingo at Saint Rose of Lima school for over 50 years. John loved taking cruises and going to Atlantic City. John is predeceased by his parents Pauline and John Synkowski. He is survived by his loving wife Betty of 62 years and his four children; Susan Stites of Millville, NJ, Elizabeth Stevens and husband Paul of Forked River, NJ, Carol Conover and husband Paul of Brick, NJ, and John of Freehold. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Laurie Paluszezak and husband Lukasz of Niantic, CT, Nicole LaBelle of Niantic, CT, Stephanie Batrony and husband Peter of Aberdeen, MD, Paul Stevens of Forked River, NJ and Kaitlin Conover of Brick, NJ. Additionally he is survived by two great-grandchildren; Gavin and Jacob of Niantic, CT. Also surviving is his brother Frank Snow of Locust Grove, VA, and his sisters. They are Marilyn Pampanin of Clifton, NJ and Stella Evans of Milford, PA. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins by the dozen whom he dearly loved. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00PM and contingent to power restoration in Freehold Boro, from 7:00-9:00 PM on Tuesday November 6, 2012 at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold. A funeral service for family and friends will be held Higgins Memorial Home from 9:00 to 10:00 on Wednesday followed by a funeral mass at Saint Rose of Lima Church at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Saint Rose of Lima Cemetery.
