Obituary of Leanna Menefee
Mrs. Leanna Menefee, of New Horizons West, Gainesville, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 9, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Roger Menefee, her daughter Johnietta Menefee Scott, and her two sons James Menefee Jr. and Lewis Menefee.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a son Elger “Macy” Menefee, Washington, D.C.; two granddaughters, Monica Scott and Alissia Scott (Ted Williams), Georgia; a great grandson Scottie Williams, Georgia, and a son in law, Willie Scott. She always was the loving godmother and grandmother to the Scott, Hunter and McLeod family.
She was a member of Old Ship of Zion Church and Assembly of God, Rev. Organ.
After her retirement, she moved to Gainesville, Georgia, and joined Beginning Word Ministry in Lawrenceville, under the leadership of Apostle R. McLeod, where she was on the Mother Board. Mrs. Menefee was a loving caregiver for 40 years. She always had a funny word to share with all. She was known as the “Jersey Girl.”
The viewing will be on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012 at 11:00 am at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold. Services will be held at the funeral home at noon with Pastor Hosie L. Scott presiding. She will be buried at Maplewood Cemetery.
