Obituary of John P. Ciafone
John P. Ciafone, 68, of Freehold went to his eternal peace on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. He was born and raised in Woodside, Queens, New York prior to moving to Freehold 31 years ago.
Mr. Ciafone was a supervisor with the New York Department of Social Services before moving to New Jersey with his wife Linda in 1981 to work at Fort Monmouth, where he was a supervisor in Logistics and Supply. After leaving Fort Monmouth, he was a craps dealer in Atlantic City, before working with government contractors.
John was a talented and award winning photographer, having published many pictures in photography magazines. He enjoyed playing cards and loved sports.
He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold, and was deeply religious throughout his life.
John was predeceased by his parents, John and Ann Farrell Ciafone; his nephew Frankie Ciafone, and several aunts and uncles.
Surviving are his ex-wife Linda; his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Susan Ciafone; his niece and goddaughter, Sue-Ann Villano; his nephew, Nicholas Ciafone; two great nephews, Matty and Robert James; as well as many friends.
A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday at 8:30 A.M. at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
