Obituary of Wasyl Horjatschyj

Wasyl Horjatschyj, age 91, of Toms River, died Friday, November 30, 2012 at Shorrock Gardens, Toms River. Mr. Horjatschyj was born in the Ukraine. He lived in Elizabeth, NJ for many years before moving to Toms River in 2011. He was a custodian for Vernon Paper, Elizabeth, NJ and a parishioner of St. Vladimir’s Church, also in Elizabeth. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Kowalska Horjatschyj and one sister. Surviving are two daughters; Irene Humeny of Howell, NJ and Rosemary Horjatschyj of Allentown, PA., one brother who lives in the Ukraine; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephens Ukrainian Catholic Church, White Oak Bottom Road, Toms River, NJ. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden, NJ.
