Obituary of Royal A. Cannon
Royal A. Cannon Jr. of York, PA died January 16th, 2013 at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, MD at the age of 85.
He was the son of Royal A. and Anna Cannon Sr. He is a World War II Veteran serving as a Merchant Marine.
He was employed as a building construction consultant for many years and later became Owner and President of A.S.A.P. Mailing, Inc.
He leaves his wife Gail M. Cannon, a son and wife Ronald and Fran Cannon and their children Matthew, Andrew, and Christopher, a daughter-in-law Sharon Cannon and children Jonathan, Rachel and Jennifer, a step-son and wife Stephen and Lana Serencko and children Alexandra, Julianna, and Vincent, a step-daughter and husband Lynn and David Mound and children Tyler, Lianna, and Wyatt. He also leaves great grandchildren and three sisters and two brothers. He was predeceased by his first wife Venda Cannon, son Royal A. Cannon III, two brothers and two sisters. He was active in many organizations and social groups over the years. Some of his favorites were the PA Chapter of L/S John W. Brown, Inc., sailing, woodworking, and gourmet cooking.
Visitation will be 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Sunday, January 20th, 2013 at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold, NJ. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 21st, 2013 at noon with burial at St Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Freehold First Aid Squad, 18 Spring St., Freehold, NJ 07728.
