Obituary of Robert W. Coulson
Robert W. Coulson, 81, of Manalapan Township died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mr. Coulson was born in Bronx, N.Y.
He served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1952 to 1953.
Mr. Coulson was the owner and operator of Burke’s Pump Service since 1977 and the owner and operator of Battleground Deli since 1980. He was a sound engineer in New York City from 1953 to 1977.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Englishtown and Colts Neck Reformed Church.
A daughter, Patricia A. Coulson, died in 2009.
Surviving are his wife, Lydia Fasano Coulson; a son and former daughter-in-law, Robert Vincent and Marie Coulson; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lydia Marie and Charles Mittermaier, Carol Jean and Robert Frusciano, and Karen Lillian and Richard Lee; five grandchildren, Danielle and husband Brad, Christina, Gina, Robert, and Daniel; and a great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Grace.
Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held during the visiting hours at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Scott Brown officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. The interment will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
